Learning Objectives

Indicator: B8.5.1.1.2 - Apply knowledge of waste management practices to manage waste in a community

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify at least three waste management problems in their local community and explain their causes.
  2. Plan a community waste management activity using the sustainable practices learned in the previous lesson (reduce, reuse, recycle, compost).
  3. Carry out a small-scale waste management activity in their school or community and record their observations.
  4. Evaluate the waste management practices they observe in a community setting using a simple checklist.
  5. Present a short report of their findings and recommendations in a clear, organised manner.
