Learning Objectives
Indicator: B8.2.1.2.1 - Classify and perform individual and group traditional dance movements and adaptations in the different regions for personal development, communication, inclusivity, and cultural identity (e.g., kpanlogo, wan tiadoone, nwemboaba, etc.)
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify and classify at least four traditional dances from different regions of Ghana as either individual or group dances, giving their regions of origin.
- Demonstrate correct performance of at least two group traditional dance movements (e.g., kpanlogo from Greater Accra, wan tiadoone from Upper East) with attention to rhythm and coordination.
- Create one adapted version of a traditional dance movement that includes peers who may have physical limitations or different skill levels.
- Teach a learned or adapted traditional dance movement to a small group of peers, using clear verbal instructions and demonstrations.
- Record the duration of their dance practice in a self-journal entry, showing their commitment to increased physical activity.
