Learning Objectives

Indicator: B8.2.1.1.1 - Classify and perform socio-relational traditional games (e.g., agblatsetse, kwanikwani, etc.) and adaptations for cultural awareness, sensitivity, and appreciation of other cultures.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify and classify at least three socio-relational traditional games (antoakyire, agblatsetse, kwanikwani) according to their region of origin and the social relationships they build.
  2. Demonstrate the rules, movements, and counting patterns of antoakyire with accuracy and rhythm.
  3. Perform one adapted version of a socio-relational traditional game that includes all classmates regardless of ability, gender, or background.
  4. Record estimated duration and performance measures of games played in a self-journal to track involvement in physical activity.
  5. Express respect and appreciation for the cultural origins of each game and its people, using appropriate language during class discussions.
