Learning Objectives

Indicator: B7.2.1.2.1

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Name at least four traditional Ghanaian dances (e.g., adowa, kpo dada, dugu, takai) and state the region or ethnic group associated with each.
  2. Demonstrate at least three individual traditional dance movements and two pair or group formations with correct basic steps.
  3. Adapt a simple traditional dance movement to include a partner or classmate with limited mobility, explaining the adaptation they made.
  4. Record the duration of their dance practice in their self-journal and compare it with their previous week’s physical activity time.
  5. Explain in one or two sentences why learning and performing traditional dances helps to preserve and appreciate Ghanaian culture.
