Learning Objectives

Indicator: 2.2.1.LI.3 - Analyse art medium and scale in art production.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Define art medium and scale, and explain how the two relate in the production of artworks.
Compare and contrast at least three pairs of artworks or cultural objects from Ghana that use different media and scales, identifying what each choice communicates.
Explain why artists choose specific materials and sizes for particular purposes, using examples from familiar Ghanaian contexts.
Work collaboratively in mixed groups to analyse how medium and scale together shape the meaning and cultural identity of an object or artwork.
Present a reasoned oral or written analysis of a chosen cultural object, justifying how its material and size contribute to its function and significance.
