Learning Objectives
Indicator: 2.2.1.LI.3 - Analyse art medium and scale in art production.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Define art medium and scale, and explain how the two relate in the production of artworks.
- Compare and contrast at least three pairs of artworks or cultural objects from Ghana that use different media and scales, identifying what each choice communicates.
- Explain why artists choose specific materials and sizes for particular purposes, using examples from familiar Ghanaian contexts.
- Work collaboratively in mixed groups to analyse how medium and scale together shape the meaning and cultural identity of an object or artwork.
- Present a reasoned oral or written analysis of a chosen cultural object, justifying how its material and size contribute to its function and significance.
