JHS3 Science · Term 2, Week 1
The Human Body System
Lesson notes
Learning Objectives
Indicator: B9.3.1.1.1 - Explain the concept of the circulatory system, state the function of each part of the system and the health challenges associated with it
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Explain the concept of the circulatory system as the body’s transport system for blood, oxygen, nutrients and waste products.
- Identify and state the function of the blood, heart, blood vessels (arteries, veins and capillaries) and blood components (plasma, red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets).
- Draw and label the four chambers of the mammalian heart and its associated major blood vessels.
- Describe at least three diseases of the circulatory system, their causes and how to prevent them.
