Indicator: B8.3.1.1.3 - Explain the causes and prevention of tooth and gum decay.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Describe at least four causes of tooth decay and gum disease, including the role of plaque formation.
Explain the process by which plaque leads to tooth decay and gum disease.
Demonstrate at least three proper methods of preventing tooth decay and gum disease.
Demonstrate the correct technique for cleaning the teeth, including proper brushing and flossing methods.
Evaluate common dental practices and identify which ones prevent decay and which ones contribute to it.
