Lesson notes

Learning Objectives

Indicator: B9.3.1.1.2 - Identify similar and congruent triangles and use the knowledge to solve related problems

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. State the conditions for two triangles to be similar (corresponding angles equal, corresponding sides in proportion).
  2. State the conditions for two triangles to be congruent (corresponding sides and angles exactly equal).
  3. Identify similar and congruent triangles in given diagrams by comparing angles and side lengths.
  4. Solve for missing angles in similar and congruent triangles using the properties of corresponding angles.
  5. Solve for missing side lengths in similar triangles using proportional reasoning.
