Lesson notes

Learning Objectives

Indicator: B1.3.2.1.1 - Tell the position of objects relative other objects in space using words such above, below, to the right etc.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Use positional words (above, below, to the right, to the left, in front of, behind, between, next to) to describe where an object is relative to another object.
  2. Identify the position of a learner or object in the classroom using at least two positional words correctly (e.g., “Ama is to the left of Kwesi and in front of Yaw”).
  3. Follow simple instructions that use positional words to place objects in the correct position (e.g., “Put the book below the table”).
  4. Draw or point to an object based on a spoken description of its position relative to another object.
  5. Justify their answers by explaining why they chose a particular positional word using evidence from what they can see.
