Learning Objectives

Indicator: B9.5.3.1.1 - identify basic dry methods of cooking and foods that can be prepared using the method

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify at least two basic dry methods of cooking, namely baking and grilling, and state one defining feature of each method.
  2. Describe the processes involved in baking and grilling in a clear, ordered sequence using correct food preparation vocabulary.
  3. Classify at least five common Ghanaian foods according to whether they are best prepared by baking or grilling.
  4. Discuss at least two advantages and two disadvantages of baking and grilling methods of cooking.
  5. Explain at least two principles (safety and quality rules) that must be followed when baking and grilling foods.
