Learning Objectives

Indicator: B8.2.2.3.1 - Participate in flexibility and balance activities at varying levels of challenge or difficulty

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Demonstrate at least three different flexibility activities and three different balance activities at a basic level of challenge.
  2. Set a personal flexibility and balance goal and record their starting performance in their B7 performance log.
  3. Perform at least two balance activities at an increased level of difficulty (e.g., balancing an object on the head while walking, spoon and egg brisk walk).
  4. Measure and record the duration or distance of their performance in their self-journal for at least two activities.
  5. Explain how increasing the challenge level of flexibility and balance activities helps improve their overall physical fitness.

1. Set flexibility and balance goals and pursue them through personal activities recorded in the B7 performance log. This may include increased frequency of line walking, balancing various objects on the head while walking, spoon and egg brisk walk, reaching activities and tumatu done at home and in school.
2. Record estimate of duration/measure of performance in your self-journal as your effort to increase involvement in physical activity.
