Learning Objectives

Indicator: B8.2.2.1.1 - Participate in muscular strength and endurance activities at varying levels of challenge/difficulty for leisure and personal development

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Define muscular strength and muscular endurance and distinguish between the two using simple, everyday examples.
  2. Demonstrate at least four different muscular strength and endurance activities, including push-ups, sit-ups, skipping and squat jumps, at a level of challenge appropriate to their current fitness.
  3. Set a personal muscular fitness goal for the next two weeks and record their baseline performance (number of repetitions or duration) for at least two activities.
  4. Track their performance in the B7 log or a personal fitness journal, recording both the number of repetitions and the duration of each activity session.
  5. Explain how regular participation in muscular fitness activities supports their leisure time and personal development, linking this to self-discipline and personal standards.
