Learning Objectives

Indicator: B7.2.1.1.4 - Locate points on the number plane, draw a table of values of a given relation, draw graphs for given relations and use them to solve problems.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Locate and plot points on the Cartesian (number) plane given their coordinates, including points with negative x and y values.
  2. Complete a table of values for a given rule such as x → 2x + 1 or x → x² + 2 on a specified domain.
  3. Plot points from a table of values on a number plane and draw the graph of the relation.
  4. Read coordinates of points from a graph and use the number plane to answer questions about positions and distances.
  5. Solve simple practical problems by interpreting points on a number plane.
