Learning Objectives

Indicator: B2.5.1.1.1 - Mention Ghana’s neighbours and locate them on a map

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Name all three countries that share a border with Ghana: Togo, Burkina Faso, and Côte d’Ivoire.
  2. Locate Ghana and her three neighbours on a map of West Africa using the cardinal points (North, South, East, West).
  3. State the position of each neighbouring country in relation to Ghana using directional language (for example, “Togo is to the east of Ghana”).
  4. Sing or recite a short rhyme about Ghana and her neighbours.
  5. Point to Ghana’s neighbours on a map when asked, and respond correctly to questions such as “Which country is to the north of Ghana?”
