Indicator: B8.1.1.1.1

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify at least four factors that influence the choice of food and eating habits, including misconceptions, religion, age and state of health.
  2. Explain how each identified factor affects what a person eats and when they eat, in relation to sports and physical activity.
  3. Discuss in small groups how good and bad eating habits affect performance in sports and physical activity.
  4. Present a short oral report to the class on the effects of eating habits on physical activity participation.
  5. Evaluate the quality and validity of nutrition information from different sources, distinguishing reliable guidance from common misconceptions.
