By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify and list at least three food nutrients (carbohydrates, proteins, vitamins) and give a Ghanaian food example for each.
- Explain the function of carbohydrates, proteins, and vitamins in sports and physical activity.
- Classify given foods into energy-supplying, body-building, or repair-and-maintenance groups.
- Work in small groups to research and present a list of food nutrients with their sources to the class.
- Justify why an athlete or active person needs more of a particular nutrient before and after exercise.
