Learning Objectives
Indicator: B4.1.2.6.1 - Solve multi-step word problems involving the four basic operations
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify the operations needed to solve a multi-step word problem and state them in the correct order.
- Model a mathematical statement (number sentence) from a given word problem involving addition and multiplication, and solve it.
- Model a mathematical statement from a given word problem involving subtraction and division, and solve it.
- Model a mathematical statement from a given word problem involving multiplication and division, and solve it.
- Solve multi-step word problems using the four basic operations and check whether their answers are reasonable using estimation or inverse operations.
