Learning Objectives

Indicator: B4.1.2.1.1 - Determine basic multiplication facts up to 12 × 12

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Use the intersection (legs and arms) model with straws or drawings to find the product of any two numbers from 1 to 12.
  2. Recall and state basic multiplication facts up to 12 × 12 accurately when prompted, with particular attention to the 4s, 5s, and 8s.
  3. Find doubles and squares of given numbers up to 12.
  4. Use skip counting in 4s, 5s, and 8s to determine multiplication facts.
  5. Play the “3-in-a-line” multiplication game using a 6 by 6 chart, demonstrating accurate product recognition for products between 25 and 144.
