Indicator: B2.1.2.4.1 - Use conventional strategy to add and subtract within 100
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Model addition and subtraction of 1 and 2 digit numbers (with answers within 100) using groups of tens and ones.
- Use an addition frame to record the process of adding 1 and 2 digit numbers with and without regrouping.
- Use a subtraction frame to record the process of subtracting 1 and 2 digit numbers with and without regrouping.
- Solve addition and subtraction problems within 100 by writing numbers in the correct place value columns (tens and ones).
- Justify their answers by explaining how they regrouped tens and ones when necessary.
