By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify the place value of each digit in a given number and use this understanding to break down word problems.
- Solve multi-step word problems involving place value, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and comparison of large numbers.
- Create their own word problems based on real-life Ghanaian situations that require place value understanding to solve.
- Estimate and check the reasonableness of answers to word problems using place value and rounding skills from previous lessons.
- Present solutions to word problems clearly, showing the working steps and stating the final answer with the correct units.
