Learning Objectives
Indicator: B8.1.1.1.3
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Compare two 8 to 9-digit whole numbers using the symbols “>”, “<”, and “=” by examining place values digit by digit from left to right.
- Identify numbers that are 100,000 or 1,500,000 more or less than a given 8 to 9-digit number and state which is greater or smaller using the correct symbol.
- Order a set of three or more large whole numbers in ascending and descending order.
- Use “>”, “<”, and “=” symbols to compare large numbers in real-life contexts involving distances, populations, and money.
