Learning Objectives
Indicator: B1.1.4.1.1 - Recognise Ghanaian coins by name, including one pesewa, five pesewas, ten pesewas, twenty pesewas, fifty pesewas and one cedi by value and describe the relationship among them
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify the six Ghanaian coins (1p, 5p, 10p, 20p, 50p, and GHS 1) by their names and physical features.
- State the value of each coin correctly when shown a coin or a picture of a coin.
- Describe the relationship between two pesewas and ten pesewas, five pesewas and ten pesewas, two pesewas and twenty pesewas, and one pesewa and one cedi.
- Arrange coins in order from the smallest value to the largest value.
- Explain why people use money for buying and selling in daily life.
