Learning Objectives

Indicator: B8.3.1.1.1 - Identify tools and equipment for measuring and marking out

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Name at least four measuring tools and four marking out tools used in at least three different production areas (food laboratory, sewing workshop, wood workshop, metal workshop, or building site).
  2. Describe the procedure for measuring and marking out an artefact in one production area of their choice, stating the steps in the correct order.
  3. Sketch and label at least two measuring tools and two marking out tools, showing their main parts clearly.
  4. Match each measuring and marking out tool to the production area where it is commonly used, and justify their choice with at least one reason.
  5. Present their sketched tools to the class and respond to at least one question or comment from peers during appraisal.
