Learning Objectives

Indicator: B7.3.2.1.3 - Draw in a square grid rectangles and triangles with given dimensions.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Draw rectangles on a square grid when given specific length and width dimensions.
  2. Draw triangles on a square grid when given specific base and height dimensions.
  3. Read and interpret the dimensions of shapes already drawn on a square grid.
  4. Create rectangles and triangles that satisfy given relationships (e.g., twice as large, same area) compared to a given shape.
  5. Count and compare areas of shapes drawn on square grids.
