Learning Objectives

Indicator: B8.5.4.1.1 - Demonstrate Skills in table setting

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify the correct positions of cutlery, crockery, glassware, and napkins on a single table cover (place setting).
  2. Arrange a complete table cover for one person, following the standard order of placing items from the centre outwards.
  3. Justify the placement of each item on the cover by explaining the logic of use (outside-in order of cutlery use).
  4. Appraise their own and peers’ table settings using a simple checklist and suggest at least one improvement.
  5. Demonstrate proper napkin folding techniques (at least two styles) suitable for a formal or semi-formal meal.
