Living Cells

Lesson notes

Learning Objectives

Indicator: B8.1.2.1.2

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Classify given organisms (plants and animals) as either prokaryotic or eukaryotic based on the type of cells they are made of.
  2. Justify their classification by referring to the presence or absence of a true nucleus and membrane-bound organelles.
  3. Explain at least two ways in which prokaryotes (bacteria) and eukaryotes (plants and animals) affect human health.
  4. Propose simple safety measures to protect themselves and their families from harmful prokaryotes.
  5. Present their classification and reasoning in clear, ordered speech, using correct scientific vocabulary.
