Indicator: B8.2.2.1.1 - Describe the life cycle and economic importance of the Anopheles mosquito

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Sequence and describe the four stages of the Anopheles mosquito life cycle in the correct order.
  2. Draw and label the egg, larva, pupa and adult stages of the Anopheles mosquito.
  3. Explain the conditions needed for the Anopheles mosquito to complete its life cycle.
  4. Describe at least three ways the Anopheles mosquito affects the economy of Ghana.
  5. Evaluate why knowledge of the mosquito life cycle is important for controlling malaria.
