Learning Objectives
Indicator: 3.1.1.LI.3 - Discuss how to cope with depression and prevention of suicide.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Define depression in their own words and distinguish it from ordinary sadness or temporary low mood.
- Identify at least five warning signs of depression and three warning signs of suicidal thoughts.
- Describe at least four healthy coping strategies for managing depression, including when and how to seek professional help.
- Explain at least three practical steps to support a friend or family member who shows signs of depression or suicidal thoughts.
- Evaluate a given scenario involving depression or suicidal ideation and propose a responsible action plan, justifying their choices.
