By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify the operation (addition, subtraction, multiplication or division) needed to solve a word problem involving fractions.
- Solve multi-step word problems involving fractions of given quantities and express answers in simplest form.
- Translate percentage word problems into fraction equations and solve them accurately.
- Verify the reasonableness of solutions to fraction word problems by checking against the original context.
- Create and solve their own fraction word problem based on a real-life situation.
