Learning Objectives
Indicator: B9.1.3.1.1 - Review fractions and solve problems involving basic operations on fractions
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Represent a given fraction by shading the correct portion of a shape and identify equivalent fractions from a diagram.
- Generate equivalent fractions for a given fraction by multiplying or dividing the numerator and denominator by the same number.
- Simplify a fraction to its lowest terms and convert between mixed numbers and improper fractions accurately.
- Add and subtract fractions with different denominators, including mixed numbers, using the lowest common denominator method.
- Multiply and divide fractions, including mixed numbers, and express answers in simplest form.
