Learning Objectives
Indicator: B1.1.3.1.2 - Count in halves using concrete and pictorial representations of halves
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Count groups of half objects (like half oranges or half pieces of card) from one-half up to at least five-halves, using the correct language.
- Recognise pictures showing halves and count them aloud in sequence, saying “one-half, two-halves, three-halves,” and so on.
- Match a spoken number of halves to a set of concrete objects or pictures showing that many halves.
- Arrange sets of halves in order from the smallest number of halves to the largest number of halves.
- Explain their counting in their own words, showing they understand that two-halves make one whole.
