Learning Objectives
Indicator: B2.4.3.2.1 - Identify simple machines used for specific work
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify at least five simple machines (scissors, bottle opener, forceps, claw hammer, screwdriver) by name when shown the object or a picture of it.
- Match each simple machine to the specific work it performs (for example, scissors for cutting cloth, bottle opener for removing bottle tops).
- Sort and classify a collection of everyday objects into simple machines and non-machines, giving a reason for each choice.
- Demonstrate the correct and safe use of common simple machines such as scissors, a bottle opener, and a screwdriver.
- Draw and colour one favourite simple machine and write or say one sentence about the work it helps them do.
