Learning Objectives

Indicator: B7.1.3.1.2 - Demonstrate understanding of preventive management measures for common injuries associated with sports and physical activity.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify at least three prevention strategies that reduce the risk of common sports injuries.
  2. Categorise common sports injuries according to whether prevention is mainly about preparation, equipment, or environment.
  3. Demonstrate the correct immediate management steps (RICE method) for a soft tissue injury through role play.
  4. Design a simple injury prevention guide for a chosen sports or physical activity setting.
  5. Work cooperatively in groups to present prevention and management strategies to the class.
