Learning Objectives
Indicator: B2.3.2.1.1 - Describe activities which take place during the celebration of festivals
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Name at least three festivals celebrated in Ghana from the Islamic, Christian, and traditional groups.
- Describe at least three activities that take place during festival celebrations, such as merry-making, sharing, family reunion, and worship.
- Talk about a festival they have witnessed or heard about and explain what people did during that festival.
- Role play one activity that takes place during a festival celebration.
- Draw a scene from a festival showing at least one activity people perform.

Learners talk about festivals they have witnessed: i. Islam - Eid-ul-Fitr, Eid-ul-Adha ii. Christianity - Easter, Christmas iii. Traditional - Kundum, Odwira, Damba, Bugum, Yam Festival. Learners talk about how the various festivals are celebrated. Learners role play activities that take place during the festivals: merry-making, sharing, family re-union, worship, etc. Learners draw scenes from festivals.
