Learning Objectives

Indicator: B8.3.4.1.1 - Identify and describe the types of crops, animals and land combinations for the different farming systems

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify at least four different farming systems practised in Ghana and name the crops, animals and land combinations associated with each.
  2. Describe the key features of each farming system, including how land is used and which crops and animals are combined.
  3. Classify examples of crops and animals found in their own community into the correct farming system.
  4. Discuss at least one advantage and one disadvantage of each farming system identified.
  5. Present findings about farming systems to peers using clear, appropriate language for the audience.
