Learning Objectives

Indicator: 1.1.2.LI.1 - Explain the use of selected emerging technologies in vegetable crop and ornamental plant enterprises.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Define each of the four selected emerging technologies (GMOs, tissue culture, hydroponics, and greenhouse planting) in their own words.
  2. Explain the specific use or purpose of each technology in vegetable crop and ornamental plant production.
  3. Describe at least one practical example of how each technology is applied in vegetable or ornamental farming.
  4. Discuss the advantages and limitations of each technology based on evidence from videos and research.
  5. Present findings on emerging technologies in mixed-gender pairs using a short oral or PowerPoint-style report.
