Learning Objectives

Indicator: B2.4.2.1.1 - Recognise the importance of safety when using electricity

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Mention at least five electrical items they use in their homes and describe how each is used.
  2. Identify and describe at least three unsafe practices with electricity from pictures or scenarios shown by the teacher.
  3. State at least four safety rules to follow when using electrical appliances at home and in school.
  4. Explain why electrical wires are covered with plastic or rubber and why plugs are made of plastic rather than metal.
  5. Demonstrate the correct way to plug and unplug an electrical appliance using an insulating material.
