By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Define carbon dioxide and identify it as one of the components of air.
List at least three common uses of carbon dioxide, including its role in fire extinguishers, fizzy drinks, and food preparation in plants.
Explain at least two ways carbon dioxide gets into the environment.
Describe at least two adverse health effects of excess carbon dioxide on humans and two adverse effects on the environment.
Discuss in small groups the benefits and dangers of carbon dioxide, showing critical thinking and good communication skills.
