Learning Objectives
Indicator: 2.3.1.LI.2 - Identify problems in the environment and design strategies to address them.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify at least three distinct problems in their local environment that can be addressed through art and design processes.
- Categorise identified problems according to their type (social, environmental, cultural, or economic) and justify their classification.
- Brainstorm and document multiple design strategies for addressing a selected problem through a structured ideation process.
- Evaluate proposed strategies using simple criteria such as cost, feasibility, materials available, and community impact.
- Present a documented problem-and-strategy proposal to the class, showing how design thinking can offer a viable solution.
