Learning Objectives

Indicator: B4.1.1.4.1 - Describe real life situations using positive and negative values

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Identify whether a real life situation is represented by a positive or negative number.
  2. Describe everyday situations such as savings and debts, profit and loss, and temperatures using positive and negative values.
  3. Locate positive and negative numbers on a number line, showing movement to the right and left of zero.
  4. Explain the meaning of zero as the point between positive and negative values in practical contexts.
  5. Justify their choice of a positive or negative number for a given real life situation with a clear reason.
