Learning Objectives

Indicator: B8.5.4.1.1 - Explain the concept of climate change and its effect on the environment.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Define climate change in their own words as a long-term shift in average weather patterns.
Identify at least four visible signs of climate change in Ghana and around the world.
Distinguish between the causes of climate change (both natural and human-made) and its effects on the environment.
Explain how rising temperatures, changing rainfall patterns and rising sea levels affect farming, water supply and settlements in Ghana.
Use multiple sources to compile a short report on the causes and effects of climate change and present it to the class.
