Algebraic Expressions
Lesson notes
Learning Objectives
Indicator: B8.2.2.1.4 - Factorise given expressions involving the four operations and use the experiences gained to solve problems.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Identify the greatest common factor (GCF) of the terms in a given algebraic expression.
- Factorise expressions by taking out common factors, including expressions with two or more terms.
- Factorise four-term expressions using the method of grouping.
- Use factorisation to simplify expressions and solve simple problems set in practical situations.
- Verify factorised results by expanding back to the original expression.
