Learning Objectives
Indicator: B5.4.2.1.2 - Design and conduct an experiment in which the likelihood of a single outcome occurring is impossible, possible (likely or unlikely), certain.
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Design a simple probability experiment using everyday materials such as bottle tops, coloured counters, or cards.
- Conduct the experiment they designed, recording each outcome accurately as it occurs.
- Classify the likelihood of each outcome from their experiment as impossible, possible (likely or unlikely), or certain, using the language of chance.
- Explain in their own words, with justification, why a particular outcome is impossible, possible, or certain based on the contents of their experiment.
- Work cooperatively in small groups to design, run, and report on a probability experiment, sharing responsibilities and results clearly.
