By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Identify the unknown and the known quantities in a given equation.
Create at least two different real-life stories or problems that match a given equation.
Write a word problem to match a simple one-step equation with whole number coefficients.
Solve a self-created problem to verify that it correctly matches the given equation.
Justify to a partner why the problem they created fits the equation, using the words “unknown” and “equation”.
