Learning Objectives

Indicator: 1.2.1.LI.2 - Use ratio to enlarge, reduce or divide plane geometrical figures.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

State the meaning of enlargement, reduction and division of plane figures using a given ratio.
Enlarge a given plane geometrical figure to a given scale ratio using drawing instruments.
Reduce a given plane geometrical figure to a given scale ratio using drawing instruments.
Divide a given plane geometrical figure into parts in a given ratio.
Compare original and transformed figures and explain how corresponding sides relate by the given ratio.

Assist them to also draw plane geometrical figures equal in area to given figures.
