Indicator: 3.3.2.LI.1 - Examine the role of tourism in the socio-economic development of Ghana and the challenges facing the tourism sector
By the end of the lesson, learners can:
- Explain at least four ways tourism contributes to the socio-economic development of Ghana, using specific local examples.
- Identify and analyse at least five challenges facing the tourism sector in Ghana, with reference to specific tourist sites.
- Evaluate the relative importance of tourism compared to other economic activities in Ghana, using statistical data provided.
- Propose realistic solutions to address two or more identified challenges facing the tourism sector.
- Work collaboratively in mixed-gender and mixed-ability groups to research, discuss and present findings on tourism in Ghana.
