Lesson notes
Learning Objectives
Indicator: 3.1.2.LI.3 - Discuss the socio-economic and environmental effects of mass wasting
By the end of the lesson, learners can:

- Explain how mass wasting events disrupt livelihoods, including agriculture, transport, housing, and trade, with reference to both rural and urban settings in Ghana.
- Analyse a case study of a specific mass wasting event (e.g., the 2021 Nyabum landslide in the Eastern Region) to identify and discuss its socio-economic and environmental effects.
- Evaluate the relative significance of socio-economic effects compared with environmental effects of mass wasting, using evidence to support their reasoning.
- Design a group presentation that proposes mitigation and adaptation strategies for a community at risk of mass wasting, integrating social, economic, and environmental considerations.
