Learning Objectives

Indicator: 3.1.1.LI.2 - Examine the importance of river landforms to the socio-economic development in Ghana

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Identify at least four river landforms found in Ghana and state their locations.
Explain how specific river landforms (floodplains, deltas, waterfalls, gorges, meanders, and levees) contribute to agriculture, energy production, transport, and water supply in Ghana.
Discuss the role of river landforms in supporting livelihoods such as fishing, farming, and tourism, with reference to specific Ghanaian rivers.
Assess the socio-economic benefits and potential challenges associated with the use of river landforms in Ghana, using evidence from at least two Ghanaian examples.
Present a group report linking river landforms to socio-economic development, using digital tools such as Google Earth to identify and locate landforms.
