Learning Objectives

Indicator: 2.2.1.LI.1 - Identify and describe the origins of cultural objects in Ghana.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

  1. Define anonymous art and distinguish it from attributed art using specific Ghanaian examples.
  2. Identify at least five cultural objects from different regions of Ghana and state where each one originates.
  3. Describe the traditional materials and production methods used to create selected anonymous cultural objects.
  4. Explain the social conditions (who makes the object, for whom, and why) that shape the creation of anonymous art objects.
  5. Present a short verbal or written description of the origin, material and production mode of one Ghanaian cultural object.
