Learning Objectives

Indicator: 3.3.3.LI.2 - Identify aircraft maintenance equipment.

By the end of the lesson, learners can:

Identify the major categories of aircraft maintenance equipment (hand tools, power tools, test equipment, and support equipment) and give Ghanaian or international examples of each.
Explain the purpose and importance of the Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM), the Illustrated Parts Catalogue (IPC), and the Aircraft Logbook as essential documentation and equipment in maintenance work.
Match a given maintenance task (e.g., removing a panel, checking tyre pressure, torqueing a bolt) to the correct tool or equipment required.
Demonstrate safe and proper handling of a selected set of simple maintenance tools (e.g., screwdrivers, spanners, torque wrench) following workshop safety rules.
Describe how the misuse or absence of the right equipment can compromise airworthiness, drawing on reasoning from case examples (Level 4 depth of knowledge).
